FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is the story true? Did Charlie kill all those kids?
Q: Is it really haunted? And was it really a school?
A: YES and YES! It was a real public school for Cincinnati and opened up in 1894.
Q: Are there ghost tours? Can my paranormal group come through for an investigation?
A: Ghosts tours are offered on Wednesdays in October. Tours must be reserved online and group size is limited. If you are a paranormal group looking to do an investigation please contact us through our contact page.
Q: What is included with every ticket?
A: The general admission, fast pass admission, and front of the line pass give you entry to both The Dent Schoolhouse and Queen City Slaughter Yard unless otherwise mentioned.
Q: How long is the wait?
A: This changes from night to night. We recommend that you purcahse your tickets online! This allows you to walk right into the line for the attraction instead of having to wait to purchase your tickets on-site and then have to wait to go through the attraction.
Q: Can we take flash photos of your haunted houses?
A: NO! The Dent Schoolhouse is a very dark attraction and everyone especially the actor’s eyes adjust to the low light. When you flash your camera you are temporarily blinding the eyes of the actors. If you are media related please contact us so that arrangements and photos ops can be coordinated.
Q: Will the actors touch us?
A: You will not be grabbed or touched by any actors unless it’s an accident or heightens the scare. Our actors are highly trained and professional. They will not touch you inappropriately or in sensitive areas.
Q: What is included with every ticket?
A: You get admission to The Dent Schoolhouse and Queen City Slaughter Yard (which is right behind The Dent Schoolhouse)
Q. How Long does it take to walk through?
A: Depends on how fast you can run! 😉 Normally around 25-35 minutes.
Q: Does the Dent Schoolhouse change from year to year?
A: YES! The haunted attraction goes through more upgrades and changes than any other haunted attraction around! Detail, animatronics, new sets, and new technology are added each year to ensure that The Dent Schoolhouse stays the #1 Scariest haunt in the Cincinnati Tri-State area.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The Dent Schoolhouse will stay open rain or shine. Queen City Slaughter Yard is an “open-air” attraction meaning, it could shut down due to heavy rain.
Q: Does your attraction have security?
A: The Dent Schoolhouse has a fully trained security staff that keeps watch over you and our workers. We also have two Sheriffs crossing guests across Harrison Ave. The school has night vision cameras that watch over the house.
Q: Can we be thrown out of the Dent Schoolhouse?
A: YES! We do not tolerate foul language, pushing, vulgar behavior, weapons of any kind, alcohol, drugs, etc. This is done for your safety and the safety of our workers. If warned and the problem proceeds the guest could be asked to leave without a refund.
Q: Do you sell food, beverages and souvenirs at your attractions?
A: YES! We sell everything from food to Dent T-shirts. Bathrooms are available as well.
Q. What is the age requirement to get in?
A. We have no age restrictions. We’ve had kids as young as five go through and come out with a smile while grown men have come out screaming and crying. It all depends on the persons’ upbringing and threshold for fear.
Q. How many actors are in the house at one time?
A. We have more actors in our attraction than any other single haunt in Cincinnati! We have between 50-65 actors scaring you each night. Don’t be fooled by numbers from other haunts. Unlike them, we do not include security, personnel, and concession workers into our head count.
